Current Opportunities

The Diversity and Inclusion Policy is an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to combat racism in our workplaces, development work, and local communities. It clearly articulates our stance on racism and racial discrimination, and it reinforces our vision of the institution we aspire to be. The policy commitments are based on international gender equality instruments including the  MDGs, SDGEA, Charter on Human and People’s Rights related to the Rights of Women in Africa,  UN Resolution 1325 (2000) on Peace and Security emphasising gender main; streaming as core in the promotion of a culture of peace, promotion of democracy, economic and social development and, human rights. The policy commitments are overarching and anchored on the pillars of EREA Organs, Portfolio Committees, Secretariat and EREA member policy statements, strategic plans, roadmaps and action plans for achieving gender equality and women empowerment targets
