Introduction

The members of the Secretariat Bureau constitutes the Executive Secretary, the Chairperson of TPC as the Bureau Secretary and the NRI coordinators as members.

Objectives of SB

The Secretariat Bureau's objective is to equip the Secretariat with additional human resources and thereby improve the Secretariat's performance in expeditiously implementing planned activities and directives made by superior organs of the association.
The Bureau extends the arm of the Secretariat to implement the activities of the Secretariat. The Bureau performs its duties through pre- meetings organised by the Secretariat ahead of CFA meetings, SPHRC, EXCO and General Assembly organs of EREA. During its meetings, the Bureau reviews and prepare various reports before tabling the same at such meetings of superior organs of EREA to ensure quality reporting.
Specifically, the Bureau shall review to ensure quality works and reports prepared by the association but not limited to the following -
  1.  Review draft status progress reports of implementation of all preceding resolutions made by superior organs of EREA (CFA, SPHR, EXCO and AGA);
  2. Review draft status progress reports of implementation of Annual work plans of the Portfolio Committees (EPC, LPC and TPC), and the work plan of the Secretariat;
  3. Review draft status progress reports of implementation of the Strategic Plan for the preceding financial year;
  4.  Formulate issues and prepare annotated agendas to be presented at the meetings of superior organs of the association;
  5.  In collaboration with hosting NRI support staff at the meetings of superior organs, review and package the compiled resolutions of each meeting of the organs for review and signature by members of respective organs;
  6.  Review the proposal for Action Plan and Budget for the next financial year to be presented to the superior organs of the association;
  7.  Review any other reports, developed tools/guidelines/frameworks, rules, manuals, project proposals, and systems that have been developed by the Secretariat, portfolio committees and other superior organs of the association;
  8.  The members of the Bureau shall individually or severally participate in activities organised by other bodies as part of capacity building of the Secretariat Bureau; and
  9.  Hold both pre- meetings ahead of the CFA meetings, SPHRC, EXCO and General Assembly organs of EREA to review the various reports before tabling the respective reports at such meetings of superior organs of EREA.
  10.  Assist the secretariat in tracking deliverables from the portfolio committees in the respective NRIs before the EREA meetings.
  11.  Assist the secretariat in executing resolutions from AGA and EXCO directed to the secretariat for implementation and Strategic Plan activities for the respective year.
