The Energy Regulators Association of East Africa shall hold its Annual meetings from 24 – 31 May 2019 at the HOTEL ENGLISH POINT in Mombasa-Kenya. The meetings, are the second series of meetings following the semi-annual meeting which were held from 17th -25th January 2019 in Zanzibar-Tanzania.
The delegates to the meetings are the National Regulatory Institutions, namely, AREEN – Burundi, ERC – Kenya, RURA – Rwanda, ERA – Uganda, EWURA – Tanzania, and ZURA-Zanzibar. Other National Regulatory Institution of PAU-Uganda, and PURA-Tanzania shall also attend the meetings as observers. Other invited delegates and observers to the meetings, include the EAC Secretariat, development partners, namely, RAERESA/ESREM, USAID, GiZ, AfDB, and the EADB.
During the seven-day meetings shall consider progress implementation of planned activities of the Association during the FY2018/19. A number of reports will be considered, including, implementation of the activities of the Portfolio Committees, Secretariat report, status of implementation of previous decisions of the 16th EXCO meeting held on 25th January 2019 in Zanzibar, and progress implementation of the 10th Annual General Assembly held 0n 1st June 2018 in Kampala-Uganda.
The annual meetings, are back-back meetings starting with the session of Portfolio Committees (EPC, LPC and TPC) running from 24-27 May 2019; followed by meetings of EXCO Sub-Committees (CFA, SPHRC) meetings on 28-29 May 2019, the 17th meeting of EXCO on 30th May 2019, and finally the 11th Annual General Assembly of EREA on 31st May 2019.
During the meetings, delegates shall have an opportunity to critically review progress implementation of EREA Action Plan during the last two quarters in FY2018/19.Please down a detailed program for the EREA meetings.
